Established in 1980 with the approval of the State Council of China, Norinco produces and distributes a wide array of ammunition, sporting arms, and firearms equipment. When the opportunity arose for distributing surplus firearms and ammunition to North America, Norinco rapidly became a major market presence. Norinco Surplus ammunition originates from PRC military manufacturing in the 1960s-1980s.
Norinco Surplus ammunition is mass-produced to military specifications, using copper/brass washed steel cases, steel-core projectiles, corrosive chlorate primers, and full-power powder loads. As a result, the rounds are more affordable than new manufacture brands, at the expense of “shooting hot” and placing higher stresses on the firearm they are used in. Please note that some ranges will not allow Norinco Surplus ammunition, as the steel cores are prone to ricochets and may damage backstops. Nick’s does not recommend firing Norinco Surplus ammunition through valuable, rare, or very old firearms – ensure your firearm is in good mechanical and physical condition beforehand.
Norinco Surplus FMJ ammo is perfect for budget-minded range training and target practice with Warsaw Pact service firearms.
